Gingerbread was one of the original favours – during medieval times at jousting competitions knights presented shield-shaped gingerbread love tokens to excited maidens who reciprocated with gold-coated gingerbread hearts. Ginger is an aphrodisiac – warm and spicy it intoxicates the blood, excites the senses and stimulates amour. What favours are available?
